The Shore
In July 2025, I stood barefoot on the shores of Zanzibar, Tanzania. That moment was more than travel. I did not go there to find a breakthrough. I went because the pace of what I was building demanded a pause, and something about that particular shore met me in a way I had not planned for.
For months before that trip, I had been moving fast. Building. Planning. Leading. The work felt good and the calling felt clear, but somewhere beneath the productivity I had begun to lose the thread. I was doing the work without fully inhabiting it. I had answers without stillness, momentum without roots. Zanzibar was not a vacation. It was a correction.
The Staff
One morning I walked the shoreline alone. The ocean was patient the way God is patient, pulling back and returning, as if it had all the time in the world. Then I saw it. A piece of driftwood, resting in the wet sand as if it had been placed there. The shape, the length, the way it curved near the top and thickened toward the base. It was a staff.
When I picked it up, it fit my hand in a way that felt less like discovery and more like retrieval, as though this was something that had been mine before I found it.
"Go. Do My will. Lead with boldness. What's in your hand is enough."
Clarity is not a reward for the most organized person in the room. It is a gift given to the formed one.
The Work
Church leaders make consequential decisions every week, and most of them make those decisions without adequate intelligence. Not because they are not gifted. Not because they do not care. But because no one has ever handed them a clear picture of what they actually carry, what surrounds them, and where those two realities intersect.
Kingdom Assets LLC was built to close that gap. The Rooted Path™ is the framework. ClearPath Intelligence™ is the platform. Together they give congregations the operating system the movement never had.
Before the Work Began
There was a moment before any of this existed.
No framework. No vision. No language for what needed to be built.
Just a man who had been given real opportunities, had not stewarded them the way they deserved, and was honest enough with God to say so.
No performance. No version of the story that made it sound better than it was.
Just honesty. Just surrender.
That posture is what opened the door to everything that followed.
It is the same posture the framework requires of every leader who enters it.
Job understood this long before we did.
“I am unworthy. How can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.”
— Job 40:4
FORMATION does not begin with strategy.
It begins with silence.
Everyone is welcome to begin. Not everyone will choose to continue.
The Rooted Path™ is not bound to a single tradition, but it is anchored in the discipline of formation.
What unites those who continue is the willingness to be formed.
